Wow guys, I've just come across what may be the best BJJ kimono ever!
WHITE DOVE MARTIAL ARTS announces their first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu uniform - the FES-TWO.
British martial arts clothing manufacturer White Dove Martial Arts are pleased to announce their first uniform designed specifically for the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter.
Managing Director and founder of White Dove Martial Arts, Dave Johns explains:
"We wanted to make a uniform that was 100 percent British in design. We chose the name White Dove because the dove, a symbol of peace, is also a pigeon, and what could be more quintessentially British than a pigeon? Plus, male pigeons are incredibly vicious fighters."
Johns is a 5 times WAKY very-light contact karate champion and has brought his wealth of martial arts experience to the BJJ uniform scene.
"We believe that in order for a British product to succeed, it must be made to a better standard than something from a developing country like Brazil or USA, hence our FES-TWO weave."
The FES-TWO weave was inspired by the standard 'gold' and 'platinum' weave of traditional BJJ uniforms. However new technology, patented by Johns, allowed the FES-TWO to incorporate a unique combination of cotton, and Iron Pyrite (FeS[sub]2[/sub]), to give a tougher, more durable textile.
"We hope to sponsor a major BJJ tournament very soon," says Johns.

Mind you, I quite fancy marketing a real White Dove Kimono now.
I'm not understanding the joke. Can someone please enlighten me as to why this is funny?
Ok, the name 'White Dove' is a spoof of a couple of well known BJJ uniform makers that use a bird as their logo. If you need more help then google BJJ uniform (using the UK as your territory)and you'll soon see a few. Not funny on its own I will accept, but sets the tone.
The 5-times WAKY very light contact karate reference is funny surely. Whacky? Very-light, as in not really fighting? Pah, play on words, ok forgive me. Also, why is a 'karate' guy making BJJ uniforms?
But here's the clincher: FES-TWO is a play on the chemical symbol for Iron Pyrite (FeS2), aka 'Fool's Gold'. gold as in goldweave and fool as in April Fool.
Finally, did anyone notice that I called the USA a 'developing' country? Cheeky I know. So sue me.
Seriously, I'm gonna embroider a plain judo gi with a pigeon and strut my stuff at the next comp. Watch me fly!
