Meerkatsu art - Ukiyo-e Witches

"UKIYO-E WITCHES"
Each year I draw something for Halloween. This year, I drew an homage to the old Japanese style of printmaking called ukiyo-e, but instead of samurai fighting, I mashed it up with two witches, a little bit influenced by the poster for Wicked the Musical. It is available as a poster, print and even a coffee mug here on my Redbubble store:

DVD Review - Legal Leg Locks For Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Roli Delgado

Summary
An excellent run through of the main leg attacks and defences in gi based BJJ according to IBJJF rules. Roli Delgado is a highly rated leg lock specialist. This instructional covers the many small adjustments and details that ensure successful application of leg and foot attacks - specifically the grips and the power base required to finish the submission, while still remaining within IBJJF rules. Although biased slightly towards the straight ankle lock more than any other submission, there is enough here to arm the intermediate to higher ranked student with a much more effective leg attack game.

Meerkatsu Brand - Immaculate Toehold Rashguard

My new rashguard is now out and available to purchase at my Meerkatsu store here.

The design is a slightly tweaked version of my Heavenly Footlock T-shirt, which if you might recall, raised a very generous amount of funds for good causes back in 2013.

Summary
I review three different video tutorials, each of which teach the berimbolo (among other related techniques). Each have their own strengths and weaknesses but all can offer the viewer something that will help improve their BJJ.

Seminar - Ricardo de la Riva, Mill Hill BJJ

Mill Hill BJJ was host to Mestre Ricardo de la Riva all day today. He taught two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I attended the afternoon session where he covered spider guard sweeps, DLR sweeps and a counter to the smash pass. Here is an overview of the techniques he taught:
