As part of my build-up to the ultra cool event known as the Lockdown Fighting Championships (www.lockdownfc.com), where a mini submission wrestling tournament is held within a cage, I'm going to reveal the eight chosen fighters who will face off against each other to win the £1,000 grappling prize. Next fighter in the series is BJJ purple belt Ross Nichols!
Q: Hi Ross, let's start with some stats: age, weight, belt rank, MA styles etc?
A: Age: 20 years, Weight: 73kg, Belt rank: Purple, Style: BJJ

Q: What is your finest grappling achievement?
A: European champion 2010 bluebelt
Q: What can people wno may never have seen submission wrestling or BJJ expect at the tournament?
A: Excitement, drama and a very fast pace of fighting. Also some confusion if they havn't seen it done before, i didn't have a clue what was going on when i first watched it.
Q: The 8 man division contains some top level fighters, who are you most looking forward to fighting against?
A: Everyone
Q: Do you think you can adapt to the rule changes for the night?
A: Yes, I train nogi and mma regularly so it shouldn't be a problem.
Q: What will you do with the prize money?
A: Put it towards university fees and travel costs of international competitions.
Q: Good luck and look forward to seeing you fight at the Submission 1000 tournament at the Lockdown FC.
