Review - Scramble Relax-a-tron Jogging Bottoms

Loose fit jogging pants with Scramble branding - these joggers are stylish and uber comfortable. A few minor tweaks would make them perfect, but for what they are, they make a fine pre-training outfit for hanging around the gym or slopping around at home.

I have had numerous business and personal projects connected with Scramble. I have had no involvement with this product. The opinions in this review represent my own personal views.

Introduction
I like to don casual leisurewear all the time - at home, in the office, out and about - I'm never out of t-shirts, loose slacks and hoodies but I've been after some jogging bottoms for a long time. Before the arrival of these Scramble Relax-a-trons, I don't recall there being too many fightwear branded joggers on the market. Maybe some Tapout ones or Venum but that's about it. I was almost, almost ready to pull the trigger on some SuperDry joggers when Scramble announced these. So I bought two!

Up Close
I bought the size SMALL joggers in both the navy and grey models. For the record I'm around 167cm tall (5'6'') and weigh around 59Kg (130lbs). I don't think I have particularly long or short legs for my height (unlike my arms, which are of ape like proportions.)

Unwashed, the size small has a total length of around 104cm. That's pretty damned long for a size small and it took me a little while to stop regarding them as gi bottoms and just get used to the very slack and loose fit of these. As you can see on the photos of me wearing them at the bottom of this review, the joggers curl and bunch up at the base, so even though they are long, it wasn't as if I was tripping over them.

The above photo shows the very fat drawstring used plus the custom branded metal ring protecting the drawstring exit hole. A nice little detail. The waistband is adequately snug when I wear it without needing to pull  the drawstrings too tightly. Note the inside label patch. It's very pretty but the edges are a bit scratchy. My underwear just about covers it but on the odd occasion I can feel the edges. The fabric itself is incredibly  thick, plush and soft - even after multiple washes, the joggers did not shrink and they remained soft. So far, the surface both inside and outside has not bobbled or sag - a sure sign of superior textile quality.

In the above photo you can see the sewn on patches (applique) and embroidery. I am assuming the ragged edges of the Scramble Vale Tudo lettering is intentional and designed to fray and wear over time. I like this effect. It reminds me of the kind of thing upper end High Street brands do with their clothing - like Abercrombie and Fitch or SuperDry. Note too the ribbed effect strip running down the leg, another nice attention to detail.

The pocket is possibly only of use to warm the hands when slouching around outdoors (or whatever else one does with hands in pockets!). I mean it's big enough to place keys and wallet inside, but without a fastening system eg velcro, I wouldn't trust myself when running around for things not to fall out.

There is a back pocket too. Again, not somewhere I would trust myself to put my mobile phone, but handy for tickets, tissue and other small objects.

The bottom of the joggers appear curiously unfinished. They sort of just end without an elasticated ankle cuff or folded up ends as you would expect from other joggers. As a result, they sort of curl upwards. I thought these might wear or fray but after 4 or 5 washes, they haven't deteriorated at all. I'm guessing this is intentional and adds to the very loose appearance when worn...as you can see in the photos below:-

Conclusions
There isn't much critical I can say about these items, I love them! I don't wear them to work but when I get home from my day job, I slip into these babies and my entire life from there is done wearing these joggers. That includes going to and from the gym, out shopping or taking the kids to the park. They are both comfortable and stylish. I guess the pockets could be better if they had a velcro fastener and I guess you could argue they're a bit big on me...but I really enjoy the loose fit. The high quality components I feel also justify the price. There has been no sign of bobbling or fabric sag/stretch and the drawstring and metal ring among other small details add to that quality touch.

I like the content of the reviews and value your opinion. However, the colour of the text and the colour of the background make it really hard to read. Is this just how my computer displays it? Is this intentional?

Might be your browser Dan. I'm reading it on Chrome and also on my mobile and it seems ok.

these look nice but it's hard to justify buying them over the £14 ones I got from tesco. they're purely lounge or gym wear; if you wear them outside of the house or gym you've pretty much given up on life.
