As part of my build-up to the ultra cool event known as the Lockdown Fighting Championships (www.lockdownfc.com), where a mini submission wrestling tournament is held within a cage, I'm going to reveal the eight chosen fighters who will face off against each other to win the £1,000 grappling prize. Here I present to you BJJ purple belt (under Felipe Souza), Daniel Agard!
Q: Hi Daniel, give us your stats: age, weight, belt rank (if appropriate), MA styles etc?
A: 19, 74KG, Purple Belt, BJJ
Q: What is your fight record (gi, nogi, MMA etc)?
A: Gi: 44 W - 9 L
Q: What is your finest grappling achievement?
A: Winning the World Abu Dhabi Pro
Q: What can people who may never have seen submission wrestling or BJJ expect at the tournament?
A: They are going to see a new dimension of fighting, and they won't be used to it, but after the night is done they will appreciate it.
Q: The 8 man division contains some top level fighters, who are you most looking forward to fighting against?
A: Without a doubt, and with all respect, Daniel Strauss. Now that my game is complete, I'm more experienced and I'm confident by winning and medaling at international competions, I think the victory will be at my hand.
Q: Do you think you can adapt to the rule changes for the night?
A: The rule changes don't bother me one bit, when I compete, all I think about is the submission; everything else will come after that.
Q: What will you do with the prize money?
A: I will save the money, along with the next prize money I will get from winning the next World Abu Dhabi Pro Cup!
Q: Thanks Daniel, look forward to seeing you at the Lockdown FC Submission 1000.
A: Thanks dude.
